Continuing their search for Sir Robb and The Hood, the party met Chip the Vagabond, a desert wanderer who seemed to know a lot about the outlaws. Following his advice, the party found an encampment and negotiated for Raz and Kaamber to meet The Hood separate from the rest.
The Elf Ranger was suspicious of the party members, particularly Konnifer who was plainly Evil. When Kaamber offered up a defense, The Hood broke off the interview and advised them to leave or be now considered enemies.
While this had been going on, Konnifer and Ramona had murdered a group of teenagers so Ramona could add more bodies to her ranks of servants. Diomedes caught wind of it but found no support from the rogues when he reported it to them upon their return.
The party was frustrated. Kaamber suggested quitting the job and leaving Kuth, arguing “We don’t really have to do this, you know.” Diomedes told them about the Gates of Tamburien, an interplanar gateway deep in the badlands. This seemed preferable to finding passage aboard a pirate ship, but Konnifer decided she was done with the party and departed on her Broom of Flying.
