Adventures in Elfland
February 11, 2023
The heroes returned to Sylora where they had a brush with an Inquisitor investigating the local disappearances, but Maran spun a charming tale that deflected any prying interest in the party of oddball adventurers.
Before dawn, they left early to avoid the Inquisitor, finding a secluded spot in the woods to burn the small wickerman they had found in Neyata’s lair. Intending to call Griselda the Green Hag, they were surprised to be met by a Tiefling Warlock called Zabrina who claimed to be her emissary.
As luck would have it, Zabrina had an idea of where the party could find Neyata, as she had observed the Half-Elf Wizard interacting with Griselda more than once, but she knew the Hag would want something in return for trespassing through her garden. Villitch offered up his preserved orchid, a symbol of a love lost, and the Hag accepted this token with unsettling enthusiasm.
Taking one of Griselda’s Goblins as a guide, Zabrina led the party into the endless twilight of Elfland looking for Tom the Druid and his turtle, Tobb. When the Goblin abandoned them, Maran’s music summoned Fairies who, delighted by his song, led them the rest of the way.
The adventurers had to answer Tom’s riddle before they could claim the skull of Sir Adam (a necessary step toward finding the Crown of Kings). Once obtained, they next had to find their way out of Elfland which was impossible without a Fey guide. After an ominous encounter with an Oni, they were lucky to find a trio of friendly Gnomes who could get them back to Griselda’s hut.
Zabrina knew of three Fey Crossings within the vicinity of the hut and the party elected to take the one they believed would bring them closest to a Wizard named Garisul who, like Neyata, was busy turning men into orcs. He was also Neyata’s twin brother and she most likely ran to him after the adventurers had thwarted her.
