The Decahedron delivered Maran, Nihl and Villitch to the busy city street in front of the Friendly Goblin in Ludinium, late morning, but Gilbert, Rosetta and Zabrina were nowhere to be seen. Their mysterious absence would have to be looked into later as the present trio needed rest badly after their time in the Fortress of Fire.
Taking up rooms at the Friendly Goblin, Villitch took protective custody of the artifact that had brought them here. Later, he felt the presence of an observer and, believing it to be Meddevin scrying on him, invited the wizard to take the Decahedron, feeling it wasn’t worth the pressure of keeping it.
That evening, after spending the day resting, Maran spun a song from their adventures about a group of heroes taking a journey to the Inverted World for a great treasure. His performance was such a critical hit that it packed the bar by the time he finished. The heroes were approached by Ona Cambie, a Tiefling adventurer looking for hired swords to stop a cult this very night.
As the hour approached, Ona took the adventurers to meet Terence Magritte, the Master Thief of Ludinium, who led them into an ambush with a large gang of thugs. Ona’s Tiefling disguise melted away to reveal a Cambion intent on seizing the Decahedron, but the heroes put up a good fight and killed her while the Master Thief ran away. At the end of the fight, they noticed a weird, golden clockwork orb-creature observing them but it disappeared when it saw it had been spotted.
The heroes looted what they could from the Cambion and returned to the Friendly Goblin some time after midnight, finally concluding what had been an incredibly long day.
